Frequently asked questions

The KIIP exam

What is the KIIP 사전평가?

The KIIP 사전평가 (pre-evaluation exam) is the placement test for the Korea Immigration & Integration Program. Your result places you into a KIIP level (단계 0–5). The higher you place, the more lower levels you skip, and that can save you hundreds of class hours.

How is the 사전평가 scored?

Out of 100 points: a 75-point written test (50 questions in 60 minutes) plus a separate 25-point oral test. Your combined score sets your starting 단계.

How do I register, and what does it cost?

Two websites: create your profile on Socinet, then book and pay the 38,000 KRW fee on kiiptest.org. The paper-test application window usually closes about two weeks before test day.
Dates, centers, and the retake trap →

Can I retake the 사전평가?

Generally only after a 6-month wait. A retake also cancels your previous placement, so your newest score is the only one that counts. Once you start attending classes, you usually cannot re-test.

Is KIIP worth it for my visa?

Yes, if you plan to stay long-term. KIIP completion is worth up to 30 F-2-7 points and is a legal requirement for F-5 permanent residency.
Why KIIP is your strongest visa strategy →

Does finishing KIIP skip the citizenship interview?

Usually. Completing Level 5 (단계 5) and passing the 종합평가 (comprehensive evaluation) can waive the naturalization written test and the interview. Immigration can still decide to call you in.

About HanSups

Is this the real exam content?

HanSups is built around the official KIIP curriculum and released 사전평가 sample papers, with mock exams that mirror the real format and scoring. It is exam-specific, not a generic Korean app. (We don’t redistribute copyrighted official textbooks. Our study guides are our own, aligned to the official Level 0–5 curriculum.)

My Korean is very weak. Can I even start?

Yes. Our 50-question diagnostic estimates your level band, so you start in the right place. You can read the app in your language: English, 中文 (Chinese), Tiếng Việt (Vietnamese), Oʻzbek (Uzbek) or ไทย (Thai). KIIP content stays Korean, as on the real exam.

Is it free?

The free plan gives you the diagnostic and one full sample 사전평가, in your language, so you see exactly where you stand and what to study. Paid plans add the personalized daily study plan, the full practice-paper bank, AI help, and speaking practice.

Which languages are supported?

English, 中文 (Chinese), Tiếng Việt (Vietnamese), Oʻzbek (Uzbek) and ไทย (Thai) at launch.

Is it available now?

Yes. HanSups runs in your browser at app.hansups.com. No install, no app store. Level 0–1 (단계 0–1) is free and unlimited while we finish the levels above it. Starter pack.

Do you replace KIIP classes?

No. KIIP is the government program; passing it is the goal. HanSups prepares you to succeed in it, in your language, at your pace.
